“In preparing for my parents' passing, Hope Family Funerals were excellent in taking me through the process.

On the day of each of my parents passing (6 days apart), I was amazed how quickly they responded, and appropriately to the situation. We're so thankful to Tony and the team with how well we were looked after in a stressful situation.”

Stuart W.

“Hope Family Funerals has helped with the funerals of three family members in recent years; my grandmother, my uncle and my partner.

They are incredibly professional and caring, making the difficult and anxiety-provoking process so much more bearable and manageable.

This company is a true blessing to the Tauranga community.”

Nikki M.

"I would unreservedly recommend Hope Family Funerals as they were professional, caring and compassionate at a difficult time.

They were also responsive to our needs and wishes for the service we wanted for our loved one and nothing was too much trouble. Their venue is beautiful and a great place to send off your dearly departed."

Paul E.

"The team at Hope were absolutely great to work with showing such empathy and efficiency in all they did. They definitely made things very easy for us and we absolutely loved the details they prepared from the photo, to the service sheets, to the slideshow, to the flowers and more!

Thanks to all the team at Hope for the wonderful service you provide to families during their time of grief."

Emma N.

"Hope Family Funerals were excellent at a very difficult time in our lives. Our mother died in Waipuna Hospice, and the hospice staff and the Hope staff worked to make the process as easy and stress-free as they could.

The staff at Hope were kind and sympathetic, and helpful in every respect. I am so glad we chose them and I could not recommend them enough."

Our family, helping your family
  • 🌿 We’ve launched our new website.

At Hope Family Funerals, we know that when someone you love dies, you shouldn’t have to struggle to find clear information or feel unsure about your options. That’s why we’ve created a new website designed to be simple to navigate, open about pricing and services, and gentle in its tone. Just as we would hope to find ourselves in that situation.

You’ll find:
✔ straightforward explanations of what to do
✔ clear pricing and service options
✔ helpful guides for planning ahead
✔ funeral notices and livestream links all in one place

Our goal was to create a space online that reflects how we care for families in person: honest, calm and supportive.

Check our bio for the link to the website.

As always, if you’d rather talk to a real person, we’re only ever a phone call away.

  • Who says tributes have to be flowers? 🥕

This family honoured their loved one with a bouquet of fresh vegetables. Something that perfectly captured who he was.

They loved it. We loved it. And it made the farewell feel deeply personal.

  • At Hope Family Funerals, we believe a farewell should reflect the life being honoured.

Recently, we worked alongside a family to create something truly unique, which we’d like to share as an example of how personal a farewell can be.

The service honoured a hard-working, loyal and proud man with a cheeky side, whose family meant everything to him. Motorsport was his passion, and as a life member of Baypark Speedway, it played a significant role in his life.

For his funeral, his casket was transported to Baypark on our motorbike hearse, followed by several final laps around the speedway after the service. It was a deeply personal tribute, and a privilege for us to support the family in honouring him in a way that felt true to who he was.

*Footage of funeral services is only shared with explicit approval of the families we support.
  • As the year draws to a close, like a sunset marking the end of a day, we’re mindful that this season can be experienced very differently.

For some, it’s filled with celebration and connection; for others, it can be a quiet and difficult time, especially when someone they love is no longer here. We hope this encourages a little extra patience, kindness and understanding for one another.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that supports and looks after each other, and we thank you for the trust you’ve placed in us throughout the year🤍
  • Our funeral directors support families with compassion, warmth and professionalism, helping them navigate a difficult time and making it just that bit easier for them.

We genuinely feel it's the most rewarding job in the world 💕

If you are looking for a role that makes a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
We’ve put together a short questionnaire for anyone interested in applying for the Funeral Director role. It helps us get a sense of who you are and whether we might be a good match. If it feels right, we’ll get in touch to continue the conversation. We look forward to hearing from you.
